Shorkies' are hypoallergenic, meaning they do not shed either their hair or their dander. They make the perfect pet for those
allergic to cats and dogs!
They are known to be playful, fun loving dogs that love to spend time with people. They are very social dogs and are not shy
around strangers, they seldom bark and tend to be very laid back. They make the perfect house dog and family pet.
A Shorkie is a combination of a Shih Tzu and a Yorkie. The Mama must always be the Shih Tzu and the Daddy the Yorkie.
These puppies do require brushing, bathing & trimming on a regular basis. Their hair will continue to grow & grow
unless it is kept trimmed.
We make our bath time/trim time as enjoyable as possible and always give them a cookie when the process is over. If you are
not able to groom them yourself, you can take them to a groomer on a regular basis.
There are a variety of ways you can trim your Shorkie. If you like the fuzzy look we recommend just using the scissors and
trimming up the 'beard' and ears. If you choose not to shave your Shorkie, you must keep an eye out for mats, behind the
ears, in the 'armpits', ect.

You can shave just the back and sides, leaving a little fringe along the belly. Or you can do a total 'puppy cut' and shave
the whole puppy. We prefer to leave a little face hair as this adds to the "cuteness" of our Shorkies!

Shorkies fit into a variety of different lifestyles, from city and apartment living to life on a farm. They get along with
other dogs, big and small. Supervision is a must if you have big dogs and want to add a Shorkie. Shorkies are so endearing
that they will even wiggle their way into your big dogs heart!
